Londen workshop met Christine Meintjes!

Als bruidsfotograaf van tegenwoordig moet je van alle markten thuis zijn! Naast dat je natuurlijk de allermooiste momenten van die zeer bijzondere dag op een professionele wijze vastlegt, is het ook uiterst belangrijk dat je de ins en outs kent van bijvoorbeeld marketing en verkoop, timemanagement, social media, nabewerking en het (laten) afdrukken van luxe trouwalbums etc. etc. Genoeg te doen dus!
Om dit allemaal onder de knie te krijgen en houden is het zeer waardevol om workshops van andere (buitenlandse) fotografen te volgen! Zo ook de workshop die ik volgde van Christine Meintjes!
Christine is een jonge, zeer getalenteerde bruidsfotografe in Zuid Afrika en oprichtster van The Pretty Blog en KIKI. Zij gaf een 2-daagse workshop in Londen. Ik volg en bewonder haar werk al een hele tijd en omdat ze haar ervaringen op het gebied van fotografie, maar ook marketing zou prijsgeven, moest ik hier dus wel naartoe!
Na een rondje voorstellen vertelde Christine over haar fotografie carrière vanaf het allereerste begin tot nu, wat wel en niet te doen, haar manier van fotograferen en natuurlijk was er een echte fotoshoot met een bruidspaar! De modellen waren niemand minder dan Alexis van de coole weddingblog OMG I’m getting married en haar verloofde Jack. De make-up werd verzorgd door Cathrine Parnell.
De 2e dag werd gepraat over de fotoshoot en kregen we Christine’s workflow en editing in Lightroom te zien en had ze als verrassing Monica Dart uitgenodigd om ons te vertellen over inspiratie. Fijn is het ook om allemaal andere goeie fotografen te ontmoeten en ervaringen te delen! Superleuk en super leerzaam dus deze workshop!

As a wedding photographer nowadays, you have to know a lot more than just photography! It’s a fact that you have to document the most beautiful moments of this very special day in a highly professional way, but it’s also important to know the ins and outs of for example marketing and sales, timemanagement, social media, post-processing and printing wedding albums etc. etc. Enough to keep you busy!
To learn all these things and keep yourself informed, I find it very valuable to attend workshops from other (foreign) photographers, like Christine Meintjes! Christine is a  young and very talented wedding photographer in South Africa and founder of The Pretty Blog and KIKI. She organized a 2-days workshop in London. I’ve been following and admiring her work for a long time and she was going to share her story and experiences in both photography and marketing, so I just had to go to London!
After a meet and greet, Christine told us everything about her photobusiness from  the very beginning until now, tips and tricks, her own photography style and of course we had a weddingshoot with a bride and groom! The models were Alexis from the weddingblog OMG I’m getting married and her fiancé Jack. The make-up was done by Cathrine Parnell.
The second day we talked about the photoshoot and we got to know Christine’s workflow and editing in Lightroom. She also invited guest speaker Monica Dart to talk about inspiration. Besides all this it was lovely to share and connect with all the other photographers who joined the workshop! We had a lot of fun and learned looooots as well!
